This military inspired tunic does double duty. It pairs with casual pieces for a look that’s the epitome of relaxed, breezy chic. But it also cleans up quite nicely when paired with more sophisticated pieces, lending them an air of nonchalance.

This month (as we’re an inch away from October!), we’re full on ready for Fall Fashion. We’re dreaming of pieces that will take us through the last days of Indian Summer - and will mesh beautifully into our wardrobes as the days turn to Fall. We’re eyeing a pretty paisley dress with fluttery sleeves, juxtaposed against a fringed moto jacket (love!). A cozy snood scarf to wear with a feminine take on lumberjack plaids. And a ravishingly ruched camel overcoat to wear over skinny leggings or jeans. Here’s what we’re wearing at the confluence of September and October:
1. Double Duty Cape | $248 at Anthropologie
2. Urban Renewal Flannel Ruffle Shirt | $48 at Urban Outfitters
3. Warehouse Ladder Stitch Snood | $30.33 at ASOS
4. Mango Silk Paisley Caftan Dress | $143.06 at ASOS
5. Matt Frame Retro Geeky Sunglasses | $16.85 at ASOS
6. Fringe Biker Jacket by Boutique | $370 at Topshop
7. Marled Shawl Collar Cardigan | $128 at J Crew

The beauty of the cape is its dramatic shape. The way the cape flows off of your shoulderline is simply gorgeous - especially when paired with leggings or skinny jeans for an exaggerated big-over-small look. We’re digging this herringbone wool cape, which will take us from fall through winter.

Now that the weather is turning cooler, there’s no more stylish way to keep your fingers warm than a sleek pair of leather gloves. What we love about this pair of gloves is the fantastic triple buckle detailing, complete with a stud-like finish on each end - ladylike gloves with a hard edge.

The anorak is one of the key coat styles for Fall 2010 - and we have a fabulous one for you for under $100. The best part about this anorak is that it doesn’t add visual bulk; you can layer it on top of your fall clothes while looking long and lean.

The passing of Labor Day marks the end of the summer festivities, new beginnings for school, and a fresh start to a new quarter in the workplace. But you don’t have to be in school to get into the fresh back-to-school spirit. The Herschel Supply Company brings us a crisp, clean take on the classic school backpack and updates it with the details that matter - custom fabric lining, an internal computer sleeve, and a fleece-lined sunglasses pocket.
