Birkin, Balenciaga, Botkier, Bulga…Anyone tired of hearing the same old status bag names over and over again?
We went on a recent handbag hunt to find a status bag that doesn’t scream "I WANT TO BE COOL" but rather a purse that would garner quiet but notable attention and give off that "I’m money but way too classy to flash it in your face" feel. These purses may cost you a pretty penny, but they’ll be worth it once everyone stops you to ask, "Whose bag are you wearing?"

There’s something about these tops that we’re drawn to. Perhaps it’s the fact that it’s put together, but not too put together. Or nice, but also a little suggestive (isn’t the demure bow just waiting to be untied?) Or sophisticated–like wearing a blouse with a stylish scarf–yet requiring far less effort.
Or maybe all of the above. Yeah, that’s it.

Spotted all over the streets of San Francisco: Quilted Jackets. Apparently Marc Jacobs isn’t the only one obsessed with quilting (see his entire line of current handbags). Fashion-savvy, street-smart downtowners also happen to think it’s perfectly on trend, too.

More than anything, college style is all about looking good without looking like you’re trying too hard. And let’s be realistic–chances are, you won’t be going heavy on the Edwardian fashion or rock rebel chic clothes.
Luckily, collegiate fashion is In. Think preppy collared shirts, vests, and cardigans–and sporty chic track jackets, polos, and henley shirts.
What should you be wearing for a fresh, collegiate look? Whether or not you’ll be attending classes this fall, Style Intelligence Report has the answer for you:
Men
- Sports-inspired items, like track jackets,
- Patterned sport shirts,
- Cardigans,
- Knit ties,
- Fitted polos,
- T-shirts over polo shirts (or sport shirts), and
- Denim, as usual.
Women
- Cropped anything: blazers, sweaters, and pants,
- Henley shirts (a casual nod to Nautical fashion),
- Cardigan sweaters,
- Vests,
- Premium denim: as the prices rise, the popularity of status denim only increases,
- Oversized sunglasses with square-shaped frames,
- Plaid and Tweed, and
- Sports-inspired items (e.g. track jackets, tennis tank tops).

Lately, we’ve spotted feet in a range of shades that run the gamut from bronze to pewter. 24K heels bring us back to the days of ’70s and ’80s excess, barely-there flats have us longing to soak up the sun in Capri, and strappy sandals allow some of us think we’re partying in Ibiza, even if we’re just in a seedy nightclub. Fulfill your greatest (shoe) fantasy with all of the gilt and none of the guilt!

We love this season’s tiered skirt, but we have an itch that it’s going to end up on the sale rack this fall…just like last season’s poncho. A refreshing departure from that is the circle skirt, with just a little fifties charm and all of its timeless elegance.

Looks like the denim industry is using its head. After season upon season of complicated rinses and treatments, jeans are going grey this fall.
As the most sophisticated denim variety, grey denim has versatility, refinement, and a dose of cool. It instantly elevates an otherwise so-so outfit, whether you’re going out for groceries or going to a club. Integrate this versatile piece into your wardrobe by pairing it with anything and everything in your closet, especially your whites from spring and summer.
What’s the verdict? Grey matters.
