It’s that time of the year - time for graduations and new beginnings. And accordingly, we’ve gotten a number of questions from women all around the country about what to wear to the graduation ceremony. In a nutshell, bright colors, dresses, and low heels are all occasion-appropriate. Here’s how to put these elements together for a gorgeous graduation outfit:
1. Build your outfit around a gorgeous floral dress. The sexy strapless style is counterbalanced by the sophisticated floral pattern.
2. In case you’re going to be in an air conditioned area, you’ll want a cardigan sweater for layering. Choose a sweater in a bright color, one that complements the colors in the dress.
3. Finish off the outfit with a pair of low heels (in case you’ll have to do a lot of walking) and a pretty clutch purse.

We asked: Would you wear The Color Green?
You said: Yes to The Color Green, with a 94% to 6% vote.
Style tip? What better color is there to welcome Spring than the color Green? It’s fresh, clean, and it manages to be cheerful without the overt brightness of yellow, orange, or red. We’re loving Green paired with Brown - or even Grey. The trick is to let the green shine by pairing it with colors that aren’t quite as bright.
Next question: One of the big handbag trends for Spring is the Long Strap Handbag, which you can wear cross-body. But what do you think? Would you wear the Long Strap Handbag? Cast your vote on the sidebar!

Spring is in the air, and so is Spring Green. As a color combination, green and brown were born to be together. Just ask Mother Nature. Make this natural color combination the centerpiece of your outfit. Here’s how to get the look:
1. Start with a gorgeous blouse in spring green. The bright color will draw attention up towards your face.
2. Slip on a pair of jeans and a tailored hip-length blazer in a neutral color.
3. Sling a rich brown bag over your shoulder to complement the beautiful spring green blouse.
4. Finish off the outfit with a pair of colorful flats. We’re digging the playful combination of blue and yellow, the two colors surrounding green on the color wheel.

Wearing a cardigan over a collared, button-down shirt at work is nothing groundbreaking, but you can easily give the look a fresh feel. Just mix and match patterns - and get creative with proportion. Here’s how to get a fresh take on the classic cardigan over button-down shirt look for work:
1. Start with a fitted striped collared, button-down shirt and a pair of well-cut trousers.
2. Add a brightly colored sweater over the striped shirt. Note how the yellow, organic pattern of the sweater contrasts with the blue and white linear pattern on the shirt. Plus, the half sleeves on the sweater allow the striped shirt to peek out from underneath.
3. Accessorize with a pair of feminine pumps and a slouchy bag. And to give the look a more youthful feel, regardless of your age, you can try tossing on a knit cap.

We asked: Would you wear Oversized Bags?
You said: Yes to Oversized Bags, with a 74% to 26% vote.
Style tip? An oversized bag is a simple yet bold way to accessorize an outfit. We love going all out with oversized bags with bright colors - or eyecatching patterns. But if you’re looking for a less daring look, you can still try an oversized bag with interesting hardware or classic lines.
Next question: We’ve always been a fan of the color Green, and it’s becoming a full fledged color trend for Spring. But what do you think? Would you wear the color Green? Cast your vote on the sidebar!

No matter what your age, you can pull off the leather jacket look with style and grace. Simply choose a leather jacket in a classic shape and pair it with equally sophisticated pieces. Here’s how to get an ageless look with a leather jacket:
1. Start with a drapey knit top with a classic cowl neckline and a pair of fresh white jeans.
2. Add the leather jacket - try a bomber style (as shown) or a more sophisticated blazer style jacket. Note how the warm brown of the jacket really brings out the freshness of the blue and white combination.
3. Finish off the outfit with classic-with-a-twist accessories: a folk patterned scarf (that picks up the colors in the outfit), a slouchy zigzag print handbag, and a pair of metallic driving mocs.

Your job may require you to limit your fashion choices, but you can still express your personal style. You just need to be creative about how you do it. Here, we show you how to dress up a basic foundation outfit with statement accessories:
1. Start with conservative foundations: a drapey knit blouse and a pair of twill trouser pants.
2. Add a tailored, belted trench to look instantly pulled together.
3. Against the backdrop of conservative blacks, greys, and blues, be bold with your accessories. Here, we experimented with both color and pattern. The herringbone tote jazzes up the solids, while the cherry red shoes add a zing to the otherwise dark outfit.

Q: I am going to Germany at the end of May and would like to know what I should wear. I’m sure I’ll do a lot of walking. I want to keep my personal style, but want to be comfortable without looking like a tourist.

A: The weather may still be cool (and perhaps rainy) in Germany at the end of May, so be prepared for daytime temperatures from the 50s up into the 70s. Layering will be your friend; you’ll be able to take off layers as each day warms up to regulate your temperature throughout the day.
Outerwear: Bring a tailored trench and a nice lightweight jacket to keep you warm (and dry).
Tops: An assortment of long and short sleeve knit tops will travel well. Choose styles that have a "twist" to them - German style appreciates the small details that make an outfit special. Also pack a couple of layering sweaters in different styles and weights.
Bottoms: Pack trouser pants, jeans and walking shorts that are at least knee-length. Note that jeans in Germany can be very expensive - I’ve seen Levi’s priced at over $100. To be safe, bring your own from home. You may also want to bring a skirt to round out your bottoms wardrobe.
Dresses: Pack a dress or two; you’ll need to dress up for any evenings of fine dining.
Accessories: Since it may rain, don’t forget an umbrella or rain slicker - and bring extra pairs of comfy walking shoes (preferably rainproof ones). A pair of sunglasses and a chic scarf will round out your accessories wardrobe.
Last thoughts? So as to fit in, you may want to pack more neutrals. In my experience, German style features more earth tones and black than does American style. But then again, you do see bright colors as well - so it’s not a hard and fast rule.

We asked: Would you wear Patterned Shorts?
You said: Maybe to Patterned Shorts, with an even 50% to 50% vote.
Style tip? Shorts come in all kinds of wonderful patterns - from simple stripes and dots to beautiful florals. One of our all-time favorites are the patchwork styles of Madras shorts. These brightly colored shorts are the perfect warm-weather item. Pair them with solid colored tops; for a pulled together look, try wearing a top in a color pulled from the shorts. Works just as well for guys as it does for women.
Next question: Oversized handbags hold all of your stuff - but they can be a bit unwieldly to handle. But what do you think? Would you tote an Oversized Handbag? Cast your vote on the sidebar!
