Omiru Poll Results: Leopard Print is (barely) In

Omiru Poll Result: Leopard Print is (barely) In

Diane von Furstenberg Kasper DressWe asked: Is Leopard Print In or Out?

You said:  We’re on the fence about Leopard Print.  47% are all over Leopard, while 27% and 26%, respectively, believe they’re Out and On the Way Out.

Omiru’s take:
Jennifer Lopez might rock these spots, but they’re not for everyone.  If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try a Leopard Print dress or overcoat.  But we’d recommend accessorizing with these spots instead of creating an outfit around them. And please, one Leopard Print item per outfit, max.

Next Question: This season, we’re keeping an eye on an emerging eveningwear trend: Shorts (over Leggings or Tights) masquerading as Eveningwear.  But what do
you think?  Tell us, is Shorts as Eveningwear In, or is it Out?  Cast your
vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Results: The Color Green is IN!

Omiru Poll Result: Green is IN!

Tahari Natalia DressWe asked: Is The Color Green In or Out?

You said:  We heart Green!  79% are all over the emerald color. Only 12% and 9%, respectively, believe they’re On the Way
Out and Out.

Omiru’s take:
Wear green for its festive flair or for its inherent wearability.   Those with lighter, fairer skin tones should steer towards deeper, saturated shades.  Bright, vibrant shades of green perfectly complement darker skin tones.

Next Question: Jennifer Lopez is often spotted in her signature Leopard Prints.  But what do you think?  Tell us, is Leopard Print In, or is it Out?  Cast your

Omiru Poll Results: Velvet Jackets are In

Omiru Poll Result: Velvet Jackets are In

Theory Bobby Adore Velvet BlazerWe asked: Are Velvet Jackets In or Out?

You said:  Pull one on for the holiday party.  58% are all over Velvet Jackets. 18% and 26%, respectively, believe they’re On the Way
Out and Out.

Omiru’s take:
Velvet Jackets are an easy way to take your look from standard to snappy.  We’re fans of the tuxedo look in particular–updated for this season with a cropped sleeve and snug fit (pictured).  Wear your Velvet blazer with tuxedo pants, trousers…or even denim.

Next Question: Green is a classic holiday color…and perhaps the Next Big Thing.  Tell us, is The Color Green In, or is it Out?  Cast your

Omiru Poll Results: Shirtdresses are In!

Omiru Poll Result: Shirtdresses are In!

Nili Lotan Shirt DressWe asked: Are Shirtdresses In or Out?

You said:  It’s time to shop for shirtdresses.  68% are all over these versatile dresses, and only 12% and 19%, respectively, believe they’re On the Way Out and Out.

Omiru’s take:
The perfect workdress, Shirtdresses manage to straddle the line between professional and figure flattering. Not too casual, but not too fussy, Shirtdresses travel effortlessly from the boardroom to cocktails at the local bar. We’re stocking up on both short and long sleeve styles (such as the attention-grabbing mod dress pictured at left) to take us through Winter and Spring!

Next Question: As party season approaches, we’re taking another look at the Velvet Jacket.  Tell us, are Velvet Jackets In, or

Omiru Poll Results: Trapeze Silhouettes are (Barely) In

Omiru Poll Result: Trapeze Silhouettes are (Barely) In

Chloe Button Neck DressWe asked: Are Trapeze Silhouettes In or Out?

You said:  Trapeze silhouttes, while all over the runways, aren’t necessarily going to be taking over your closet.  Almost half of you (49%) are all for this of-the-moment silhouette, but 18% voted Trapeze silhouettes Out and the remaining 33% cast their vote towards On the Way Out.

Omiru’s take: In a season enamored of volume, trapeze shapes are a fun silhouette that’s easier to wear than the bubble skirt.  Plus, they effortlessly cover up any extra holiday weight you may put on this season.  We’re behind the Trapeze silhouette, but we’re limiting our purchases to classic looks that can be worn after the Trapeze craze is over.

Next Question: We’re all over Shirtdresses for their versatility at work and in the rest of your life.  But what do You think?   Tell us, are Shirtdresses s In, or
are they Out?  Cast your

Omiru Poll Results: Suits for Work are In!

Omiru Poll Result: Striped Tops are On the Way Out

Diane von Furstenberg Mele Knit JacketWe asked: Are Suits for Work In or Out?

You said:  Long Live Business Formal! 80% of you are behind the workwear staple.  Only 20% (equally divided) think Suits for Work are Out or On the Way Out.

Omiru’s take: Anything that encourages people to dress up at work puts a smile on our faces.  While we like the freedom of Casual Friday Everyday, we also appreciate the formality of traditional workwear.  Here at Omiru, we’re all about Polished looks, both casual and formal, but wearing a suit to work makes polish just *that* much easier.  To keep the look up-to-date, look for tailored suits with a unique touch–a special collar, a beautiful closure, or even a decorative peplum.

Next Question: Trapeze shaped jackets, dresses, and tops are the Next Big Thing…at least on the runways.  But what do You think?   Tell us, are Trapeze silhouettes In, or
are they Out?  Cast your

Omiru Poll Results: Striped Tops are On the Way Out

Omiru Poll Result: Striped Tops are On the Way Out

Omiru Poll Result: Striped Tops are On the Way OutWe asked: Are Striped Tops In or Out?

You said: You’re getting tired of the whole Striped Tops theme.  A slight majority (59%) voted them Out or On the Way Out.  Then again, 41% are still behind this classic pattern.

Omiru’s take:
Striped Tops are vanilla.  They’re boring.  They’re everywhere.  And while they’re a part of almost every wardrobe, we don’t think that they deserve to be placed front and center.  We like the idea of Striped Tops, but we would rather place the focal point of your outfit elsewhere.  Perhaps a fun accessory, a stunning coat, or a great skirt that shows off a little leg (despite the falling temperatures).  Same goes for men…minus the flirty skirt!

Next Question: Has casualwear taken over the workplace, or is there still room for fine tailoring by the watercooler?   Tell us, are Suits for Work In, or are they Out?  Cast your

Omiru Poll Results: Layered Necklaces are In

Omiru Poll Results: Layered Necklaces are In

Lee Angel Oval Link NecklaceWe asked: Are Layered Necklaces In or Out?

You said: Layered Necklaces are still In.  58% are still all over this trend, while 14% think they’re Out.  The remaining 28% think this jewelry trend is On the Way Out.

Omiru’s take:
We love the drama that Layered Necklaces create for an outfit.  With the ability to take a simple outfit from vanilla to cookies & cream, Layered Necklaces are an essential in this era of mannered, ladylike dressing to give outfits a bit more flavor.  In order to take full advantage of this jewelry trend, we recommend pairing necklaces with compatible colors but wildly different textures.

Next Question: Striped Tops are on one hand a figure flattery liability (the wrong sized or placed stripes can make you look like you took a few too many sweets from the cookie jar) and on the other hand a fashion trend that’s all over the stores.   But what do you
think?  Tell us, are Striped Tops In, or are they Out?  Cast your
vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Results: Tall Boots are In!

Omiru Poll Result: Tall Boots are In

Marc by Marc Jacobs Boot with Buttons up SideWe asked: Are Tall Boots In or Out?

You said: You heart Tall Boots!  88% of you voted Tall Boots In. Only 6% each believe that these boots are Out or On the Way Out.

Omiru’s take:
Needless to say, we’re all over this Fall/Winter wardrobe staple too.  And while you can wear these Tall Boots with skinny jeans and an oversized top for a distinctly 80s vibe, we’d recommend looking beyond the obvious.  Instead, why not toughen up a flirty dress with a cropped jacket and a rugged pair of Tall Boots?

Next Question: Layered necklaces are all over the runways.   But what do you
think?  Tell us, are Layered Necklaces In, or are they Out?  Cast your

Omiru Poll Results: Dresses with Pockets are In

Omiru Poll Results: Dresses with Pockets are In

Nanette Lepore \'Party Time\' JumperWe asked: Are Dresses with Pockets In or Out?

You said:They’re In!  72% of you voted these functional fashions In, and only 20% voted them Out.  The remaining 8% voted Dresses with Pockets On the Way Out.

Omiru’s take:
Dresses are The Hot Silhouette for Fall, so it pleases us that you appreciate the combination of fashion and function as much as we do.  This trend has been floating around for awhile; we first reported on Dresses with Pockets back in February.  But though the trend has been in circulation for months, it’s far from falling from favor.  Wear Dresses with Pockets to work, paired with a blouse (pictured).  Or wear the trend to your next evening Gala.  Amy Adams and Maggie Gyllenhall, and Sandra Bullock all sported pocketed styles at the Emmys!  What could be chicer?

Next Question: As Summer fades into Fall, we’re switching out our sandals for boots.  Tall boots.  But what do you
think?  Tell us, are Tall Boots In, or are they Out?  Cast your
vote on the sidebar!
