Style tip? Catherine Holstein proves that lace doesn’t have to be feminine and sweet (though it so often is). Pair the loveliest of lace dresses with the right accessories, and it can take on a distinct edge.

Style tip? Yellow green is a tough color to wear, no doubt. We’d recommend keeping it away from your face, like the skirt at Rachel Comey (pictured, left). The other great thing about the Rachel Comey example is that the top and belt help to tone the yellow green down with neutrals.

Style tip? Pushing up your sleeves can give a breezy air to the most formal of outfits, and this styling technique works well for transition temperatures during both Spring and Fall. Wear your long sleeves pushed up to near the elbow for best effect. It doesn’t have to be picture perfect pushing–part of the beauty of this styling technique is its variability.

Style tip? This season’s vest is oversized instead of cropped. While the shrunken vests hit you at the waist, these oversized vests reach down to your hip. They’re great for elongating your torso if you’re shortwaisted (e.g. have a short torso and long legs). Wear an oversized vest if you’re looking to add an instant dash of polish to your outfit.

Style tip? Salmon Pink looks great with chocolate brown, as seen at Verrier. The delicate color really comes alive on dark–or tanned–skin.

Style tip? When you’re working with a bold, statement pattern, keep the shape of your dress simple, as at Costello Tagliapietra (center) and Lela Rose (right). Or wear a top or skirt in the statement pattern and balance it out with a solid color. The red Costello Tagliapietra pattern would look lovely in skirt format paired with a maroon top, wouldn’t it?

Style tip? When you’re wearing such a statement design detail, keep the rest of your outfit simple in color and pattern. Isn’t that yellow-green bow coat from Lela Rose (pictured, left) outstanding?

Style tip? Bright orange is surprisingly versatile–and makes a striking statement. Pair orange with other warm colors - golds (as seen at ThreeAsFour), chocolate browns (a la Reyes), and even warm shades of teal (as at Verrier).
