Omiru Poll Results: Charm Bracelets are (Barely) In

Omiru Poll Result: Charm Bracelets are (Barely) In

Forever 21 Charm BraceletWe asked: Are Charm Bracelets In or Out?

You said:  We’re divided.  While "In" got 46% of the vote, "Out" got almost as much support (37%).

Omiru’s take: We appreciate that Charm Bracelets, much like Cufflinks for men, allow you to express a little bit more about yourself.  Tennis fan?  Show your sporting spirit with a mini tennis racquet.  Oenophile?  Reveal your love of wine with a tiny wine bottle charm.  That said, they’re seen in some circles as kitschy.  Our verdict: this is a jewelry trend that’s more fun than fundamental, so spend accordingly.

Next Question: Our Trendscape: Wide Trouser Jeans sparked a bit of a debate as to whether or not they’re In yet.  But what do You think?   Tell us, are Wide Trouser Jeans In, or are they Out?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Results: Bright Yellow is IN!

Omiru Poll Result: Bright Yellow is IN

Kenneth Jay Lane Oversized Enamel/Pearl Flower RingWe asked: Is Bright Yellow In or Out?

You said:  Long live Bright Yellow! A significant 70% majority is all over the cheery color.

Omiru’s take:
We’re sweet on Bright Yellow to cheer up an otherwise humdrum outfit.  Got a pair of grey slacks and a white button-down for work?  Add a Bright Yellow sweater or overcoat to the mix.  Even if you’re not into bold colors, you can still add spark to your wardrobe with Bright Yellow accessories.  Try out Bright Yellow with a cute handbag, a pair of shoes, a brooch, or even a ring.

Next Question: We’ve noticed Charm Bracelets rising up the trend ladder, probably for their inherent versatility. But what do You think?   Tell us, are Charm Bracelets
In, or are they Out?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Results: Hairbands are In!

Omiru Poll Result: Hairbands are IN

Eugenia Kim Sonia HeadbandWe asked: Are Hairbands In or Out?

You said:  We heart hairbands! A whopping 75% majority is sweet on this celeb favorite.

Omiru’s take:
For party or for play, hairbands are a chic alternative to the standard ponytail (yawn).  For a fresh-faced, girl-next-door look, dress up a sweater-and-jeans combo, or add some sparkle to a cocktail dress with a hairband.  Just choose a hairband that complements not only your hair color but also your outfit.  Our favorite pairings?  For blondes, we like turquoise.  Brunettes, a pale robin’s egg blue.  For redheads, a deep green.  And for black hair, choose a bright jewel tone, such as emerald.

Next Question: Speaking of jewel colors, they’ve been popping up on the runways and in store windows across the country.  Bright yellow, in particular, has been getting a lot of attention (especially when paired with black and white…yum).  But what do You think?   Tell us, is Bright Yellow
In, or is it Out?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Results: Bows on Dresses are In

Omiru Poll Result: Bows on Dresses are In

Karen Zambos Couture Bow Tube DressWe asked: Are Bows on Dresses In or Out?

You said:  Yes to Bows; a 55% majority are all over Bows on Dresses.

Omiru’s take:
For a thoroughly modern and completely ladylike look, you can’t go wrong with a bow adorned dress.  Our advice?  Choose a dress with a bow appropriately sized for your body type.  If you’re petite, for example, opt for a small sized bow.

Next Question:
Party-appropriate Hairbands have been spotted on celebs from Mischa
Barton to Emmy Rossum.  But what do You think?   Tell us, are Hairbands
In, or are they Out?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Results: Ugg Boots are OUT

Omiru Poll Result: Ugg Boots are Out

Ugg Milano BootWe asked: Are Ugg Boots In or Out?

You said:
Down on Uggs!  65% voted Uggs Out, and another 16% believe they’re On the Way Out. Only 19% are in favor of these much-detested fluffy boots.

Omiru’s take:
When it comes to the LA-esque Uggs-with-a-miniskirt look, we wholeheartedly agree with you.  Talk about temperature dyslexia!  However, you can wear your Uggs and have your style too.  Just pair the boots (we suggest the Milano Boot, pictured left) with an appropriate winter outfit–long pants, a sweater, and a cute jacket, perhaps?

Next Question: A bow can turn a simple dress into something spectacular.  But bows on dresses do run the risk of making you feel like you’re back in the sixth grade.   But what do You think?   Tell us, are Bows on Dresses In, or are they Out?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Results: Shorts as Eveningwear is OUT!

Omiru Poll Result: Shorts as Eveningwear is OUT

Juicy Couture Velvet ShortsWe asked: Are Shorts as Eveningwear In or Out?

You said:  Totally Out! 68% voted Shorts as Eveningwear Out, while only 18% cast their ballot towards "In."  And the remaining 14% believe this trend is On the Way Out.

Omiru’s take:
We agree wholeheartedly.  While this look may appear appealing on the runway, it leaves much to be desired off the catwalk.  And you can forget about wearing Shorts as Eveningwear at the Office Holiday Party!  We urge you to leave your shorts where they belong: hanging in your closet until Spring.

Next Question: People have a love-hate relationship with Ugg boots–either you love ‘em or you hate ‘em.  So, let’s get to the bottom of this.  Tell us, are Ugg Boots In, or are they Out?  Cast
your
vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Results: Leopard Print is (barely) In

Omiru Poll Result: Leopard Print is (barely) In

Diane von Furstenberg Kasper DressWe asked: Is Leopard Print In or Out?

You said:  We’re on the fence about Leopard Print.  47% are all over Leopard, while 27% and 26%, respectively, believe they’re Out and On the Way Out.

Omiru’s take:
Jennifer Lopez might rock these spots, but they’re not for everyone.  If you’re feeling adventurous, you can try a Leopard Print dress or overcoat.  But we’d recommend accessorizing with these spots instead of creating an outfit around them. And please, one Leopard Print item per outfit, max.

Next Question: This season, we’re keeping an eye on an emerging eveningwear trend: Shorts (over Leggings or Tights) masquerading as Eveningwear.  But what do
you think?  Tell us, is Shorts as Eveningwear In, or is it Out?  Cast your
vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Results: The Color Green is IN!

Omiru Poll Result: Green is IN!

Tahari Natalia DressWe asked: Is The Color Green In or Out?

You said:  We heart Green!  79% are all over the emerald color. Only 12% and 9%, respectively, believe they’re On the Way
Out and Out.

Omiru’s take:
Wear green for its festive flair or for its inherent wearability.   Those with lighter, fairer skin tones should steer towards deeper, saturated shades.  Bright, vibrant shades of green perfectly complement darker skin tones.

Next Question: Jennifer Lopez is often spotted in her signature Leopard Prints.  But what do you think?  Tell us, is Leopard Print In, or is it Out?  Cast your
vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Results: Velvet Jackets are In

Omiru Poll Result: Velvet Jackets are In

Theory Bobby Adore Velvet BlazerWe asked: Are Velvet Jackets In or Out?

You said:  Pull one on for the holiday party.  58% are all over Velvet Jackets. 18% and 26%, respectively, believe they’re On the Way
Out and Out.

Omiru’s take:
Velvet Jackets are an easy way to take your look from standard to snappy.  We’re fans of the tuxedo look in particular–updated for this season with a cropped sleeve and snug fit (pictured).  Wear your Velvet blazer with tuxedo pants, trousers…or even denim.

Next Question: Green is a classic holiday color…and perhaps the Next Big Thing.  Tell us, is The Color Green In, or is it Out?  Cast your
vote on the sidebar!
