We asked: Is Bohemian Fashion In or Out?
You said: With 69% of the vote against it, Bohemian Fashion is Out.
Omiru’s take: While the loose, carefree feel of bohemian fashion seems like a fine idea to us in theory, in practice, this perennial warm weather trend just doesn’t look as good as it should. Style tip? If you love bohemian fashion, wear it in moderation. Pair your hippie-chic tunic with a structured pair of pants. Or wear your flowy dress with a sophisticated handbag and shoes. Oh, and buy it on the cheap–this is a fleeting trend, at best.

We asked: Are Polka Dots In or Out?
You said: With 53% of the vote against them, Polka Dots are On the Way Out.
Omiru’s take: We like the playful feel of polka-dotted styles, but with the variety of geometric prints available out there, we’re buying up more sophisticated, retro-inspired prints. Style tip? Polka dots are a great way to add a bit of fun to a serious outfit. Try mixing styles–such as a flirty polka dot top under a military-inspired jacket. Or for a more refined look, try monochromatic polka dots (e.g. bright yellow on mustard).

We asked: Are Clutch Handbags In or Out?
You said: With 85% of the vote, Clutch Handbags are most definitely IN.
Omiru’s take: Clutch handbags are the perfect way to add a touch of refinement to casual summer styles, and they’re equally fetching as a counterpart to tailored fall looks. We’re pleased that you love them as much as we do. Style tip? Need both hands? Look for clutch handbags with wrist straps.
Next Question: We love Geometric Prints as a wardrobe pick-me-up for both Summer and Fall.

We asked: Is Electric Blue In or Out?
You said: With 67% of the vote, Electric Blue is most definitely IN.
Omiru’s take: We love bright colors–especially for summer, and particularly for this season. What’s special about Electric Blue is it’s nearly universally flattering. On dark skin tones, electric blue really pops. And on fairer skin tones, the color adds life to your complexion. Style tip? With a color as bold as this, keep your outfits simple. Try electric blue as a solid colored dress–or buy a simple top in this bold color.

We asked: Are Maxi Dresses In or Out?
You said: With 52% of the vote, Maxi Dresses are (barely) In.
Omiru’s take: We’re not loving these questionably flattering floor-length dresses–they only really look right on the uber-tall, and it amuses us that they’re the complete opposite of another hot trend right now: minidresses. Style tip? Should you try the Maxi Dress, keep in mind that this trend could be over in a heartbeat. Choose your price point accordingly.

We asked: Is Black and White In or Out?
You said: Black and White fashion is In with 83% of the vote.
Omiru’s take: No big surprise here. What’s not to love about black and white? It’s classic and nearly universally flattering. Style tip? Mix up plain black and white with a slice of color for a fresh summer look.

We asked: Are Square Jackets In or Out?
You said: Square Jackets are In with 62% of the vote.
Omiru’s take: We love the look of the Square Jacket–it’s so 1960s without feeling overly anachronistic. Style tip? This summer, wear your Square Jacket with a skirt–or even shorts, like the model pictured at left. But don’t put the jacket away at the end of summer. Layer it over a series of knit tops–and a fitted pair of jeans come fall.

We asked: Are Shorts In or Out?
You said: Shorts are In–a 81% majority voted this legwear trend In.
Omiru’s take: Looks like there’s room in your closet for both skirts and shorts. Even though skirts and dresses are in vogue this season, you haven’t given up on this old summer standby. Style tip? If you have short legs, look for narrow-leg shorts that hit at about knee length (like the ones pictured) for maximum figure flattery.
Next Question: Even though it’s almost summer, you still need a nice lightweight jacket to keep you cozy. We’re rather like the 1960s-style feel of Square Jackets. But what do

We asked: Are Oversized Sunglasses In or Out?
You said: Oversized Sunglasses are still In–a 52% majority voted this eyewear trend In.
Omiru’s take: Interestingly enough, Oversized Sunglasses gained slightly in popularity over the last year. Last June, only 48% of Omiru readers voted Oversized Sunglasses In, compared to this year’s 52%. It had seemed that this eyewear trend was On the Way Out–but it has had surprisingly strong staying power. Style tip? If you have a round face, look for a more angular style to complement your face shape. The converse also applies–if you have an angular (square or heart shaped) face, look for rounder lens styles.
Next Question: With the weather warming up, it’s time to break out Spring clothes. But with dresses (and skirts) so hot this season, are shorts getting any love? What do you think? Tell us, are Shorts In, or are they Out? Cast your vote on the sidebar!

We asked: Is Hot Pink In or Out?
You said: Hot Pink is Out–or at least, On the Way Out. A whopping 46% voted this color Out, and another 16% cast their ballot for On the Way Out.
Omiru’s take: Seems that while bright colors are In this season, pink’s not getting the love. While pink isn’t the new black, you’re all for cobalt blue and bright yellow. Probably for the best. Style tip? If you dare to wear Hot Pink, skip the Pink-on-Black combination–it’s a little too Hot Topic for our taste. Instead, complement the bright pink hue with a low-key grey.
Next Question: We asked you last year what you thought about Oversized Sunglasses–and you voted them On the Way Out. Now, a year later, we’re checking in to see what you think of them now. Tell us, are Oversized Sunglasses In, or are they Out? Cast your vote
