You Said: No to Bubble Dresses

You Said: No to Bubble Dresses

Rendez-Vous by Paul & Joe Sister Stendhal DressWe asked: Would you wear Bubble Dresses?

You said:  No to Bubble Dresses, which were outvoted 57% to 43%.

Style tip? We know–"figure flattering" is not the first thing that comes to mind when you hear Bubble Dresses.  But they can flatter your figure if you choose the right dress.  Look for a Bubble Dress with an ever-so-slight bubble at the hem (too thick of a bubble silhouette is tough to wear, even for runway models), and belt the dress to reign in the volume.  Slip on a pair of heels, and you’ll be ready to take on whatever the day (or evening) has in store for you.

Next question: We love the look of the tie-neck blouse, but we wonder if real people are actually wearing it.   Tell us, would you wear a Tie Neck Blouse?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

You Said: No to Over the Knee Boots

You Said: No to Over the Knee Boots

Over the Knee BootWe asked: Would you wear Over the Knee Boots?

You said:  No to Over the Knee Boots, which got only 31% of the vote.

Style tip? You’re right that Over the Knee Boots are a fashion challenge (and really not for everyone)–but they’re oh-so-sexy when done right.  How to wear them?  With a minidress, so that a bit of leg shows between the skirt hem and the top of your boot, and an extra shot of confidence.

Next question: We recently wrote about How to Wear a Bubble Dress, but it seems that you’re still on the fence about this style.   Tell us, would you wear a Bubble Dress?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

You Said: Yes to Buffalo Check Plaid

Ruffle Pocket Plaid TopWe asked: Would you wear Buffalo Check Plaid?

You said:  Yes to Buffalo Check Plaid, which got 57% of the vote.

Style tip? Buffalo Check Plaid is one of the key trends of the season, and it works equally well on men and women
.  We love it in bold form, but for those of you who are on the fence, you can give it a try with a smaller print.  Pair your buffalo check top with something more plain on the bottom - a pair of dark rinse jeans is simple chic for both men and women.

Next question: It wouldn’t be Fall without Boots.  But what about Over the Knee boots?   Tell us, would you wear Over the Knee Boots?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

You Said: No to Elbow Length Gloves

Omiru Poll Result: No to Elbow Length Gloves

Long Fingerless Cashmere GlovesWe asked: Would you wear Elbow Length Gloves?

You said:  No to Elbow Length Gloves.  Only 46% of you said that you would wear them.

Style tip? Sure, elbow length gloves aren’t the most practical accessory in the world
.  Traditionally, they’re worn as a sophisticated accessory to an evening gown.  But elbow length gloves don’t have to be reserved for formal occasions.  You can make elbow length gloves a part of an everyday daytime outfit.  Just try a less stuffy version of the gloves in a knit fabric.  Bonus style points for choosing a bright color.

Next question: We’ve been raving about Buffalo Check Plaid patterns.  But what do you think?   Tell us, would you wear Buffalo Check Plaid?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

You Said: Yes to Sweater Vests

Omiru Poll Result: Yes to Sweater Vests

Academy Sweater VestWe asked: Would you wear a Sweater Vest?

You said:  Yes to Sweater Vests, with a full 68% of the vote.

Style tip? Sweater Vests have come a long way since Mr. Rogers
!  We love offsetting the masculine nature of the sweater vest with a feminine piece - a sinuous skirt, a flowery brooch, or even a headband in your hair.

Next question: We’re shopping for Fall Accessories - and we’re on the fence about Elbow Length Gloves.  We love the look, but are they really practical?   Tell us, would you wear Elbow Length Gloves?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

You Said: Yes to Oxford Flats

Omiru Poll Result: Yes to Oxford Flats

Issac Mizrahi Polly Oxford SkimersWe asked: Would you wear Oxford Flats?

You said:  Yes to Oxford Flats, with a full 64% of the vote.

Style tip? Oxford Flats are a classic that’s right on trend with tailored menswear-as-womenswear styles
.  And they’re getting a bit of a makeover with Oxford Heels (perfect for those of us who could use a few extra inches of height).  You can wear your Oxfords with tailored classics, but we’d recommend having them serve as a foundation for an outfit that’s a bit more edgy.  Say, wide-leg pants, an artsy blouse, and a statement belt.

Next question: Prep-school style has been dominating Fall Fashion - crested blazers, plaid, and sweater vests.  But what do you think about sweater vests?   Tell us, would you wear a Sweater Vest?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

You Said: No to Electric Pink

You Said: No to Electric Pink

Patent Skinny Belt - Electric PinkWe asked: Would you wear Electric Pink?

You said:  No to Electric Pink, says 57% of you.  Only 43% are for Electric Pink.

Style tip? Bold colors and bright hues are playing a central role this Fall
.  Royal purple, Grass green, Cobalt blue, Blood Orange, and Electric Pink are all fair game.  Should you choose to wear Electric Pink, you can be bold and wear it proudly - or you can tone it down with shades of brown or grey.  An easy way to add a touch of Electric Pink to your wardrobe is through accessories, like the pictured Patent Skinny Belt.

Next question: Now that Fall is here, it’ s time to put away the Espadrilles and the Gladiator Sandals (sigh).  We’re shopping around for Fall shoes - and we’re considering Oxford Flats.  But what do you think?   Tell us, would you wear Oxford Flats?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

You Said: No to Slouchy Trouser Pants

You Said: No to Slouchy Trouser Pants

Sophie Wide Leg Trouser PantsWe asked: Would you wear Slouchy Trouser Pants?

You said:  Absolutely Not.  A full 63% of you said No to Slouchy Trouser Pants.

Style tip?
For those of you with wide shoulders and narrow hips, you may be able to pull off Slouchy Trouser Pants, as they’ll visually
balance out your body.  For everyone else,
forget the extra volume at the hip and instead opt for trouser pants with a wide leg (as pictured).  Pair them with a slim fitting shirt for the most sophisticated, figure flattering look.

Next question: Electric Pink will be playing a starring role next Spring.  But it’s not too early to get a jump on this bold color.   Tell us, would you wear Electric Pink?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

Omiru Poll Result: Yes to Ankle Boots

Boutique 9 ‘Santani’ BootieWe asked: Would you wear Ankle Boots?

You said:  Yes to Ankle Boots, with 54% of the vote.

Style tip? Want the chicness of a boot and the flexibility of a regular shoe?  Ankle boots to the rescue!  You can spice up a traditional pencil skirt and blouse with the edginess of an ankle boot.

Next question: We noticed some controversy over Slouchy Trouser Pants as we reported on Fashion Week trends from New York last week.  But what do you think?  Tell us, would you wear Slouchy Trouser Pants?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!
