Style tip? Headbands have been around for a couple of seasons now. But this season’s headband is more embellished, more ornate. Pair this headband with something equally floaty and feminine.

Style tip? Gingham doesn’t have to be tiny, as it’s traditionally found. Lacoste and Trovata both expanded the size of the gingham pattern for a bold, graphic effect. Generally, the taller you are, the more oversized of a pattern you can wear - but even the giant gingham print at Trovata can be worn by most.

Style tip? Floaty goddess gowns are a key eveningwear trend for Spring 2009. Wear these drapey gowns with bold, strappy sandals - a solid foundation for a truly ethereal look.

Style tip? Pink may not be the new Black, but electric pink is a striking choice for waking up your Spring wardrobe. Though a shade of brown would be a traditional accompaniment, we’re loving electric pink paired with a muted grey.

Style tip? We’re already seeing the peep toe boot this Fall - and it appears that the trend will continue through Spring. It’s an offbeat trend, but the peep toe detail softens the inherent hardness of the boot.

Style tip? Purple’s a huge trend for Fall, and it continues on for Spring. From royal purple to fuschia to eggplant, purple is a great way to warm up your Spring wardrobe. Pair purple with accessories in warm metallic shades.

Style tip? Spring 2009 is characterized by selective volume - on slouchy pants, poufy sleeves, and and bubble shaped skirts. The paperbag waistline is a fresh take on selective volume - plus the naturally high waistline can visually elongate the leg and make you look taller (or allow you to wear cropped pants).

Style tip? Spring’s sandal is bold - with thick straps and a high heel. And it works as well with feminine, floaty outfits as it does with tailored, structured ones.

Style tip? Bold graphic prints are making their way down the runway - not only on shirts, but also on dramatic full-length dresses. Keep your silhouettes clean to let the graphics shine.

Style tip? Red and pink don’t traditionally go together, but they’re appearing together on the runways for Spring. Our favorite red and pink combination pairs a bright fire engine red with a bold electric pink, a la Marc by Marc Jacobs and Tuleh.
