Out on the streets of San Francisco, we made note of a few items in particular: Manbags, Brightly colored bags, Driving caps, and Stylized boots.
Check it out:
TrendWatch: Manbags, for lack of a better term. Stylish men recognize the need for a bag to carry the essentials: wallet, phone, keys, iPod, etc. Be on the lookout for more of these in the coming months.
TrendWatch: Brightly colored bags. We love the stripes!
TrendWatch: Driving Caps. There’s something about men in hats that we just adore. The refinement, the panache…we just can’t get enough.
TrendWatch: Boots, of course. We’re on the lookout for ones with a little something special, like these, with cutouts.

Utility doesn’t compromise style with this rugged nylon bag. We love the hardware detailing, and the diagonal zipper is a nice touch!

Detail-oriented fashion hounds will love the pintucking details that have been spotted on shirts, skirts and dresses everywhere. The tucks, which are sewn so close together that they can’t be measured, lend a delicate, feminine quality to any outfit.

Issue X of the Friday Fashion Hotlist: a compilation of some of the cutest and coolest stuff Style Intelligence Report saw out there this week.
This week, we’re mixing it up with a cardigan and biker boots, both of which we saw in excess during our trendwatching extravaganzas.
For women…

We love the unique look of this wool cardigan—especially the touches of gold.

Want to "shoe off" your feminine side? Pumps with scalloped edging are the sexiest items we’ve seen since lingerie tops. Jump on the bandwagon with a ridiculously inexpensive suede version, go sweet with demure pumps, or walk the path of a femme fatale with black lace.
Scalloped Suede Pump in Spring Moss | $14.99 at
Newport News
Belle by Sigerson Morrison ‘2964′ in Dark Brown/

Statement necklaces are in. Wooden beading, tribal influences, and multiple necklace strands are all big.
And for men…

No longer a symbol of conformity, grey suits are back. We love this suit from Banana Republic for its fabric (BR has access to some of Italy’s best mills) and detailing (hand sewn buttons, three button cuff detailing, and multiple interior pockets). Find the matching pant for $148.

Tired of flash-in-the-pan denim washes and jeans distressed to the point of unwearability? Style Intelligence Report is pleased to present a denim trend that’s much more wearable: creased denim.
Think of your trouser pants, right after they come back from the dry cleaner. Clean, freshly pressed, with that nice crease running down the front of each leg. Creasing your jeans imparts a sense of the same formality that is embedded in your work clothes. And it’s perfect for Casual Friday at more conservative workplaces.
How do you get the look?
- Bring out your iron and ironing board. Turn on to medium heat.
- Position your jeans on the board so that the center front of one of the legs is on the fold.
- Slowly press the fold flat using the iron, moving from mid thigh down to the hem.
- Repeat steps 2-3 with the other leg.
Easy, simple, and oh-so-chic.

Luxe clothing reflecting the Edwardian period made a splash on the runways for Fall 2005, with rich velvet button-up jackets, lacy tops and lace-up boots.
We want to know: What do you think? We think the Queen definitely would have approved.
Our inspiration: Peter Som’s Ode to England.
