Contrast Collars are fashionable right now. Unfortunately, the contrast collar often conjures up images of Gorden Gekko raking in the dough and scheming people out of their hard earned cash. On top of that, you don’t often see it done casually, at least not well.
This may be an exception. This short sleeve piece comes in a great shade of gray. With a contrast collar and a hidden button placket, it combines two hot trends of the moment. Get it while it (and the trend) is hot.
For $165, you’re paying extra for a superior cut, lightweight fabric and, in Robert Geller, a designer label as well.

Why do we love this shirt? Let us count the ways…
(1) The versatile plaid fabric goes with all of your summer basics,
(2) Linen is comfortably breathable, and
(3) The fitted shape makes this shirt look sharp.

There’s something that’s just so fresh about a gingham shirt. We’re loving both colorways–the purplish blue and the aqua blue. And at this price, you can get both!
$15 at Old Navy.

Sartorialists, relax; your hanger problems have been solved. The Hanger Project is a company that specializes in making high quality jacket, shirt, skirt, and pants hangers. The small company was the brainchild of a forum member on the excellent AskAndyAboutClothes.com.
Often, people spend a lot of time on tailoring fine garments but overlook a key aspect to clothes maintenance: the clothes hanger. Other times, people will be conscious of having proper hangers, but cannot find good ones.
All the hangers are great, but especially fantastic are the jacket hangers, which provide the most shoulder support of any hanger I’ve seen, including those at upscale department stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks or Bergdorf Goodman (although the Bergdorf ones are great too). The shoulder is the one area even the best tailor in the world won’t touch; these hangers will ensure that the shape of your jackets stay as they were made. East Coasters, make sure to get the suit hangers for your fine wool overcoats.

Look like royalty in this elegant purple button down shirt. Fun fact? Royal purple (aka Tyrian purple) originally came from the mucus of the spiny-dye murex sea snail. Because this dye had to be harvested by hand, it was both rare and expensive–and was affordable only by royalty.
Purple may be a somewhat unconventional color for men, but it looks great with a pair of grey jeans, as pictured.
$49 at Urban Outfitters.
