Onyx Miram Necklace

Onyx Miram Necklace Looking through old photos with her mom, designer Taylor Conner was inspired to create the Miram necklace.  "My mom used to tie ribbons in my hair when I was a kid, and I was inspired to bring some of the playfulness of childhood into my work."

Taylor believes that jewelry should be inherently versatile, and she recommends pairing the necklace with anything from a wear-to-work suit to a wifebeater and jeans.

Goofy fact about Taylor?  She can’t walk on moving escalators.  She gets freaked out and has been known to fall over!

$180 at Polished Lemons Luna Collection.

Brenna Copper Necklace

Brenna Copper NecklaceThe classic shapes in nature juxtaposed against the romantic colors of Autumn inspired designer Courtney Galler to create the Brenna necklace.

The versatile piece can be paired with anything from a casual chic white button down and jeans to a powerful suit for the office.  Courtney adds, "For a very of-the-moment look, pair Brenna with layers of beaded necklaces or chains in various lengths to make your own signature look."

Fun fact about Courtney?  She has a very vivid imagination…and she has a strong fear of Spontaneous Human Combustion.  Seriously.

While you’re at Lila & Rain, don’t miss their Fall sale.  Select items, including pieces from the new Spring 07 collection, are up to 40% off!

$150 at Lila & Rain.

Evelyn Handbag

Evelyn Handbag Designers Meghan Parsons and Manuel Opp of jack&marjorie combine Italian military surplus materials (wool blankets, parachutes, and webbing) with feminine materials like vintage lace, brocade, and buttons to create one-of-a-kind handbags.  We love their Evelyn handbag for its sophisticated marriage of materials.

Introducing jack&marjorie to us is Beklina, who runs her namesake family-owned and women-operated boutique that hand selects the best sustainable styles out there.

Beklina recommends pairing the Evelyn handbag with black skinny leg organic Loomstate jeans or an ivory alpaca wrap dress with tall brown leather boots.

Fun fact about Beklina?  She’s obsessed with peacock feathers, and she draws a picture of a bird on every package she sends out for safe traveling.

$150 at Beklina.

Petals Pendant

Petals Pendant Designer Jessica Poundstone wanted to incorporate her love of fun colors and modern botanical motifs into her wardrobe without giving up her head-to-toe black uniform.  The solution?  Her Petals Pendant.

The Petals Pendant can be dressed up (with a Little Black Dress) or dressed down (with jeans and a tee).  But since it’s such a focal point, Jessica recommends keeping earrings simple–hoops, studs, or simple black drops look great.

Something you didn’t know about Jessica?  She’s laughed her way through the Steve Martin movie L.A. Story at least 50 times.

$25 at Jewelry by Jessica.

Leather Girl Ring

Leather Girl Ring Traditional meets modern in this leather-gold cocktail ring.  Says designer Rickina Velte: "I like to always create pieces that are unexpected, and evoke an emotion, in most cases curiosity and happiness."

Rickina suggests pairing the ring with a wildly colorful top, flattering jeans, and black boots.  Or, she suggests, you can funk it up a bit and wear an ultra mini skirt, colorful leggings, ballerina flats, and a simple top.

Fun fact about Rickina?  She’s a total Racer chick.  Her alter ego, Rexy, drives a 2002 Subaru WRX and enjoys racing and showing up guys in their slow street compact cars!

$48 at Spipo.

Metal Hoop Earrings

Emily Watson Hoop EarringsEmily Watson is as much an artist as she is a designer.  All of her production jewelry draws on structural elements from her art jewelry.  And her art jewelry, specifically her enamel work, is what offers her the chance to work out both conceptual and technical ideas.

Fun fact about Emily?  She and her husband have lots of animals–2 very furry samoyed dogs and 5 cats.  Because her studio is attached to her house, the greatest obstacle she faces in her work is trying to keep fur out of everything she makes!

$200 at Emily Watson.

KidVisKous Heart Key Necklace

Heart Key Necklace by KidVisKous Fascinated by keys, designer Tiffany Lee was inspired to create the Heart Key necklace.

She recommends pairing the necklace with cotton or linen button down shirts with frills, lace, or neck scarves.  Tuxedo style blouses, high necked knitted wrap dresses, or even simple low-necked tee shirts would also do this necklace justice.

Little known fact about Tiffany?  She has an obsession with food as fashion–and loves Jeremy Scott’s junk food collection.  Says Tiffany: "I painted watermelons on my shoes, I have watermelon and banana necklaces in my line, I have a skirt with a burgers and fries print."

$46 at Le Fashionista.

Tabitha Lace Fleur’T Bralet

Tabitha Lace Bralet

We’re all over Lula Lu’s petite-friendly bras and lingerie, especially their Fleur’T bralette.  Equally at home in the bedroom out on the town, the bralette can be worn under another lace camisole, a low v-neck sweater, or an ever-popular wrap dress.

Fun fact about Lula Lu?  She believes she was a dog in her past life, as she’s terrified of loud thunder.

$34 at Lula Lu.

Clef de Coeur Necklace

Clef de Coeur NecklaceDesigner Katherine Babin loves creating jewelry with vintage finds, like this Clef de Coeur key.  She’s curious about the key’s mysterious past, wondering what it was made to open–a door, a jewelry box, a hope chest, a diary?

Allow the Clef de Coeur to unlock the door to your imagination.  Throw it on with some jeans and a tee for a more casual look or even a funky dress to balance out the femininity of the piece.

Fun fact about Katherine?  She was in an after school special type video about anti-inhalants when she was twelve years old.  Her big line: "No thanks, I don’t do stuff like that.  It sounds sort of dangerous."  To this day, her sisters won’t let her live that one down.

$52 each at Dejarnette.
