You took your girlfriend’s “I’ll like anything you plan for Valentine’s Day, sweetie. The important thing is that we’re together…" too literally, and now the plans go something like: take a hike up San Bruno Mountain, have a picnic in an open field, hike a bit more, play soccer at the peak, hike back down, and rent and ride bicycles. It’s obvious you’ve turned a day of love into a day of your love of sports.
All we have to say is you had better look darn good that day… or you’ll be getting comfy with the living room couch come nightfall.
Getting some action = Corny Tee + Khaki Shorts + Sneakers + Bouquet of Red Roses.

Stock Flight Short | $49 at Urban Outfitters

Chances are you’re already a Valentine’s Day veteran and have done the whole dinner-and-a-movie thing a trillion times (ok, maybe that’s pushing it). Still, since there aren’t that many things you can do to impress your woman on a Tuesday night, put a new spin on dinner-and-a-movie by doing it at home!
Fashion Formula for a Homey Stud = Pink button-down shirt (c’mon, for the sake of love!) + relaxed jeans + brown loafers.
Solid Oxford Casual Shirt | $59.50 at Banana Republic

Don’t take this homage to the Rolling Stones literally or you’ll be the laughing stock of your circle. Instead, take key pieces – the t-shirt and the blazer (in a different color) – and make your own more wearable version that will translate better on the streets.

Rolling Stones T-shirt | $19.95 at Choice Shirts
Distressed Black Premium Straight-leg Jeans | $128 at Banana Republic

Having been hot on the fashion scene for the last few seasons, skinny ties are nothing new. We even saw them on Matt Dillon (Crash) and Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (Elvis) at the Golden Globes on Monday.
Nevertheless, we appreciate their innate geek chic quality, and so we present to you a few of our favorites beyond the classic black:

While out mall shopping at Banana Republic last weekend, I found a nice shirt + tie combo that will be perfect for welcoming Springtime at the office.
Why does this combo work? We’re mixing and matching different patterns—in this case, a check with a tiny circle pattern. But even though we’re mixing it up through patterns, we’re keeping the scale of the patterns relatively similar, so as not to confuse the eye.
Windowpane-check Premium Dress Shirt | $68 at Banana Republic
Geometric Circle Tie | $59.50 at Banana Republic
