This look is part of Omiru’s June 2012 Lookbook series, which builds upon our 16-Piece June 2012 Capsule Wardrobe. See more information about this look.
June may mark the start of summer, but for most of us, it’s not the end of the rainy season. What’s the secret to a great summery rainy day look? As always - layers. Your foundation should feel seasonally appropriate - but you can be prepared to stay out of the rain with a few glamourous rainy day accessories. Here’s how to get our East Coast prep version of the summery rainy day look:
1. Start with a classic preppy foundation - a pair of nantucket reds with a vibrant green blouse. The pink and green combo definitely feels feminine - but with a dose of American Trad.
2. Slip on your trenchcoat. No need to go fancy here - a classic double breasted style in a putty color will do. (Bonus points for playing with color here though!)
3. It’s raining out - so grab your wellies (gold for a little glamour) and your umbrella before you hit the road.
