How to Beat a Cloudy Day? Layer Color into your Look.

Just because the sky is grey doesn’t mean that your entire outfit need be as well. Add a bit of color to your look to make the day look just a little bit brighter. Here’s how to get the look of color on a cloudy day:
1. This look is built on a foundation of color: a rich purple tee and a pair of greyed blue trouser pants.
2. Upon this foundation, we added the requisite neutrals - a heathered grey pullover sweater and a plaid scarf (for visual texture).
3. Finishing off the look is a pair of creamy brown oxfords, the perfect offset to the greyed blue of the trouser pants.

Love the idea and the general outfit, but I’m not sure about the brown suede shoes in the rain…

I need more layering tips, really. Besides experience you don’t find much advice on layering for men like “requisite neutral” things like that.

@Manny – Good idea – any particular items that you want tips on how to layer?

Hi, Trisha. Thanks! Let me give you a little background so I don’t make it too hard for you.
I live in Miami where it is hot about 11 months of the year. Style is developing esp. after years of just t shirts and jeans. I have a really nice suit and would like to wear jackets more often but the climate is hot!
General tips on layering in such a climate? Also what about layering vests? I think a vest would look much better than just a button down, no?
Ahh- I ask too much.
