Style tip? Though shorts are traditionally summer fare, they’re inching their way into autumn wardrobes with the addition of another key piece for fall - textured tights. As summer waned, we noticed an uptick in the pairing of shorts and denim cutoffs. But as we descend deeper into the autumn season, we’re advocating more seasonally appropriate fabrics for the shorts and tights combo. We’re digging a flannel short (belted, boyfriend style, of course) with a textured tight. Ribbed styles in dark colors tend to be flattering on those of us not blessed with lanky model legs. For footwear, try a brogue bootie in the same color as the tights, an elegant way to visually elongate the leg.
Next question: Wherever we go, we’re seeing faux fur - on voluminous vests and jackets - and lining the hoods of army coats. But what do you think? Tell us, would you wear faux fur? Cast your vote on the sidebar!

this post made me laugh because I am literally wearing a pair of black flannel shorts and almost those same exact tights this morning. wish i could post “the way i wore” to show some of the “No’s” how great this look can be!

Those who say no to tights with shorts have a right to wear what they want. Those who say yes have a right to wear what they want too. People should wear what they like. No one should tell anyone what not to wear as it’s none of their business. I vote another yes, and think it’s great, and anyone who likes it wear it. If anyone tells you that they don’t like it, take a look who they are. Are they fashionable? Are they good looking? Are they happy? Do they remember the person they are telling this to lives in a free country? Are they jealous with envy?
