seychelles-slip-on-clog_042510We asked: Would you wear Clogs?

You said:  No to Clogs, with a 67% to 33% vote.

Style tip? Clogs are one of those fashion trends, like harem pants, that are immediately dismissed as hard to wear.  But thanks to blessings from Chanel, Alexander Wang, and Alexa Chung, they’re making a comeback in a big way for S/S 2010.  How to wear these clunky heeled shoes?  Counterbalance the heavy weight of the shoe with something stunning up top - a statement jacket, necklace, or top.  The key is to wear clogs in a way that counteracts their prudish vibe.  Try a bohemian top - or a minidress - for a thoroughly modern take on the clog.

Next question: Sweatpants are traditionally athletic clothes, but they’re making their way out of the gym and onto the streets, paired with statement jackets and sky high stilettos.  These comfy pants are starting to go more mainstream, so says the Wall Street Journal.  But what do you think?  Tell us, would you wear sweatpants and heels around town?  Cast your vote on the sidebar!

I agree with the 67% of people who said ‘No’ to clogs. Shoes I’ld never wear, doesn’t matter how ‘in fashion’ they are. I prefer heels.

Wow, I’m surprised to hear that clogs got the thumbs down!

    I say “yes” 100% – can’t wait to snag a pair!

some clogs are cute but the fact that they make so much noise when walking in them is a complete turn-off

Clogs certainly are causing a stir – and they’re rapidly gaining converts in fashion circles and beyond. What’s interesting is that they incite so much passion, both love and hate.

Even if you don’t think you can wear clogs, I’d still recommend trying on a pair in store. They’re pretty comfy.

Why do trends have to be so cyclical? Some things should stay dead. I’ll have to see an adorable pair to change my mind.

It’s like it matters, I’m not the one wearing them. Ha ha ha

If there was a way to vote “no, no no no no no no NO”, I would about the sweatpants.
It is a clear violation of my iron rule- if it has an elastic waistband, don’t leave the house with it!

@Effie: Does the rule nclude the leggings trend?

I haven’t wear clogs for a long time. But this post really moved me…I will think about it.

ugh, clogs are so ugly no matter what. Just because some designer can slap them on the runway doesnt mean they look good.

@Tony- Yup, I think leggings on their own look awful. I suppose If the top is properly covered with a long tunic or a dress than their ok, and will even make your legs look nicer, but just on their own they show WAY more than I think any of us want to see. Even if you have the best figure in the whole wide world, it’s just not flattering when I can see each and every detail of your backside.
