You Said: No to Animal Prints
March 9th, 2009
We asked: Would you wear Animal Prints?
You said: No to Animal Prints, with a 54% to 46% vote.
Style tip? If you’re not quite ready to try leopard prints (or giraffe spots), you can still try a sophisticated zebra pattern. The black and white zebra stripe pattern makes a statement without shouting as loud as leopard prints.
Next question: You’ve already said that Pastel Colors are perfectly Spring. But what do you think of nude colors? Tell us, would you wear Nude Colors? Cast your vote on the sidebar!

REALLY? People pooh-poohed animal prints? Amazing!
I’ve gotta decline nude colors … I can’t even force myself to pony up for a pair of leg-elongating nude pumps. Just not my speed.

I’d love to wear an animal print – in moderation of course. The colors and patterns are fun and easy to blend into any wardrobe. As for nudes, I’d wear them but with a cavaet. I’m a dark skinned African-American (think Gabrielle Union or Angela Bassett), so it’s hard for me to find a true nude for my skintone in stores. I’d love to see designers think past the traditional nude and consider nude tones for all complexions.

I don’t think I have the guts to do full-on animal print yet… but I love spicing up my outfit with animal print accents! I adore leopard print and I have a scarf, bangle, and a pair of flats in leopard. They really help pull my outfit together.
As for pastels and nudes, however, I tend to shy away from them… I’m really pale so they’d just wash me out.

Eh.. I’m gonna keep wearing animal prints… they come and go every year, in, out, hot, cold.
But nude colors? Bla. I don’t think that’s a flattering look for many people.

Animal print accents are a great way to dip your toe into the trend – wonderful for experimentation.
As for nude colors, I’m interested to see how the poll turns out. They work for some people, but they’re definitely not for everyone.
