You Said: Yes to Lace

We asked: Would you wear Lace?
You said: Yes to Lace, with an overwhelming 77% to 23% vote.
Style tip? No matter what your personal style, there’s a lace for you. If your style is flirty and feminine, try a light colored lace blouse or skirt paired with other light, bright colors. If your style has a harder edge, try a dark colored lace paired with tougher fabrics.
Next question: Shawl Collar Sweaters are all over the place–for both men and women. But what do you think? Tell us, would you wear a Shawl Collar Sweater? Cast your vote on the sidebar!

i can see why people find lacy sexy and feminine
but it also reminds me of those little socks i wore on easter as a child
and then i think about men liking those
and then i think about child molesters…
so my boyfriend enjoys no lacy lingerie on me

I like the black lace over beige lining look.
One day I’ll get a sheath dress like that.

Way ahead of ya – already sporting a shawl collar, especially on the weekends. It gives the flattering shape of a v-neck, but is far more interesting and seasonally appropriate.

Mimi – a sheath dress would be stunning in lace. Finish off the look with patent leather Mary Jane heels.
Sal – Glad you’re feeling Shawl Collars too! I love the look, and you’re right – it is more visually interesting than a vanilla v-neck.

I am a huge fan of lace – as long as it’s good quality lace. If the quality is poor, it can really cheapen a look.

I thought I would share this little bit of information with you because I’m loving the whole lace thing, especially the Banana Republic Lace Skirt shown. It has such a romantic feel to it, but it is a little expensive for my taste. Due to the cost, I found a very similar lace skirt for much less at everyone’s favorite store, forever 21, for $19.80. It’s called the lace overlay skirt and it comes in black lace overlaying a choice of a taupe, purple or grey lining.

Great tip, Daisy! Thanks for sharing your much more affordable find.
