Ready Made Outfit: Ageless Summer Style
July 18th, 2008
Feeling the love for this outfit? Here’s more information about it.
Whether you’re in your 20s, 30s, 40s, or 50s, you can enjoy this summer outfit–the perfect getup for Sunday brunch, strolling on the boardwalk, or shopping with the girls. Why does it work for everybody?
Simple Shapes
The tunic is the epitome of summer style. What makes this tunic special is the semi-fitted shape and the ever-so-slight flared sleeves. Cropped pants work for those with long, lean legs. For the rest of us, try knee-length shorts or a breezy pair of full-length pants.
Classic with a Twist Styles
A tunic is classic, but the eyecatching green and white print gives it a special twist. Similarly, the simple handbag has an extra kick because of the burnt orange color.
Should you want to make this outfit a little more trendy, try substituting the white espadrilles with a jeweled sandal or an edgier gladiator sandal.
For a more casual look, swap out the burnt orange handbag with a straw or canvas tote bag and the bracelet for a natural wood cuff.

love the tunic. it’s my favorite silhouette. for the summer – i go with dresses. I’m sorta a dressaholic, so I buy a couple every spring/summer season. knee-length dresses make for a casual look with a short cardigan (3/4 length sleeves). the key is to find dresses with adjustable straps, clean prints and calm, cool colors.

Cute and cool. Love the green tunic.
I need a go-to outfit! I tend to wear the same denim skirt with a t-shirt and and white wedge sandals. I should have summer covered, living in Southern California! Hmm

ShopLittleGifts – Great tip about the adjustable straps–they’re so key!
Mimi – What kind of go-to outfit are you looking for? A summer casual one?

I LOVE dresses in general because they are so simple and in the summer that’s what you want. I can dress them up or down with wedges and flats for work and add jewelry and clutch for going out. My other fav summer staple is bermuda shorts. They come in all different fabrics and can be worn to work with a pair of wedges, shirt, and a belted wait to pull it all together.

I like it. I definitely think Tory Burch would approve.
