Shopping Guide: Jovovich-Hawk for Target
March 7th, 2008
Since 2003, Milla Jovovich and Carmen Hawk have been collaborating on a flirty, feel-good fashion line called, quite appropriately, Jovovich-Hawk. The LA-based line is known for its independent, romantic look–with wisps of vintage details. But as a designer line, Jovovich-Hawk was out of reach, price-wise, for many of us. No longer. Jovovich-Hawk is the latest designer line to join Target’s GO International roster, and we’ve picked out our favorite pieces from the collection just for you:
Jovovich-Hawk Chevron Swimsuit | $29.99 at Target
Channel vintage elegance when you’re lounging by the pool. We love the slimming effect of the chevron stripes.
Jovovich-Hawk Short Sleeve Hoodie in Heather Grey | $17.99 at Target
Classic with a twist–and soon to be one of your weekend favorites.
Jovovich-Hawk Arabesque Halter Dress | $29.99 at Target
The halter silhouette and the deep v-neckline flatters women with a small bust.
Jovovich-Hawk Floppy Hat in Ebony | $14.99 at Target
Bring on the drama with this vintage-inspired floppy hat. And don’t forget your oversized sunglasses.
Jovovich-Hawk High Waist Denim Jeans | $34.99 at Target
What’s not to love about these high waisted jeans? They make you look taller by visually elongating your leg, and the dark wash gives you a bonus slimming effect.

Oh, this hat will make me look like star. Completely adorable, I have been always dreaming about such a hat.

These are lovely.
Sure wish Target would introduce a designer to their plus sized offerings. I loved the Mizrahi items but they are just not my size. Target…pay attention please!!!

YAY! High waisted jeans with wider legs. So much more flattering for non-skinny women. These look more like slacks than jeans, so I can see wearing them to the office (in more laid back companies).
I agree with Yvonne– Target would have a goldmine if they offered “curvy women sizing”.

LOVE the arabesque dress! and finally, in my size, and since i have a summer wedding to go to soon, maybe i’ll pick it up…. the swimsuit is cute too, and the high-waist jeans look surprisingly flattering. (i think it’s the dark wash that does it.)

I was wondering if you could make a list of spring/summer essentials for a girl’s wardrobe. The age is around high school.

Yes, the dark wash does make the high-waist jeans flattering. And I’m glad that you love the arabesque dress as much as we do!
Here here to curvy women’s sizing at Target!

I adore Milla Jovovich and her design partner Carmen Hawk. With all of the hard edged, dark colored, structured designs out there, this design duo are a breath of fresh air, with their romantic and sophiticated take on the new age hippie chick!
I can’t wait to get my hands on a couple of their floaty dresses, and pair them with the trend of the season–black, high GLADIATOR SANDALS, the bolder the better!
I also need their high waisted, flared jean. I recently gave in and started wearing my wide leg jeans I bought last year ( I would have given in earlier but I couldn’t manage to peel my black J brand skinnies off), and they actually look amazing on.
And I completely agree with Angel, that hat is die for. Could you imagine that hat, large black oval Coco Chanel-esqe sunglasses, and a stunning one piece swimsuit? That would for sure be my no fail look for that imaginary trip I’m taking to St. Croix in June.

While I love the high-waisted jeans, they’re just not a short torsoed girl’s friend. I bought into the skinny jean trend a bit too late, but they’re surprisingly flattering on me. I don’t know that I can get behind high waisted just yet.
As for this line, it really is adorable, but the sizing is so strange. I picked up one of the wrap dresses and the chevron black and tan shirt dress. I’m usually a Medium, but the chevron shirt dress in medium fits baggily. Meanwhile, I had to get the wrap dress in a L/XL. Everything else I tried on in the collection had similar issues.
