Share your New Year’s Resolutions with us!
December 31st, 2007
Thank you, dear readers, for another delightfully stylish year together.
In the two years and nine months we’ve been making your life more stylish, we’ve brought you a host of ready made outfits (women | men) , trend reports (women | men) , fashion week runway reviews (women | men), and, of course, our signature Q&As (women | men). In the years to come, we look forward to filling your life with more beautiful, wonderful things.
A Year in Review post wouldn’t be complete without a New Year’s Resolution, and we have one that we can’t wait to get started on. This year, we’re going to give Omiru a makeover to make it easier for you to find the style tips and tricks that you’re here for.
But what about you? What are your goals for 2008? Are you looking to be bolder with your fashion choices? Will you be cleaning out your closet? Are you, like us, looking for a whole fashion makeover?
We’re a strong believer that when you write something publicly, you’re much more likely to commit to doing it. And we want to help! So, whatever your goals are (fashion or otherwise), we’d be honored if you’d share them with the Omiru community.
If you’re so inclined, please share with us your 2008 goals. To sweeten the deal, we’ll be sending a few of you a small gift in the mail…a little something to get you started on your 2008 journey. We’ll let you know who’ll be receiving gifts on Wednesday, January 2, so please add your resolutions before then
To a stylish 2008!

I’ll kick things off with my personal goals for 2008:
(1) Clean out my closet and donate clothes that I haven’t worn in at least a year.
(2) Only buy clothes that fit Just Right.
(3) Redecorate the living room, my bedroom, and the entryway.
(4) Have friends over at least once every three months. And cook the food I serve instead of getting catered food!
(5) Give myself 30 min of personal time each day…to rest, to read, to recharge…whatever I need.
(6) Make Omiru the best it can be for all of you guys

1. Get into the habit of eating breakfast every day.
2. Do cardio at the gym three times a week. (This is one time more than last year!)
3. Transition my wardrobe into more grown-up looks for a post-college style.
4. Get into the habit of reading before bed instead of watching TV!

1) incorporate more fitness activities to mix it up (found out chasing after my active toddler doesn’t count)
2) (in the meantime. . .) wear clothes better tailored for the body I have now
3) do not obsess when my husband does the cleaning and washing (not up to my standards)
4) spend more quality time with ‘just the girls’

Ooo you guys are good inspiration:
(1) Finish my thesis before starting any more house projects.
(2) Paint the living room (after thesis is done, obv. house projects are my weakness).
(3) Think more about the food I put into my body.
(4) Don’t flake on going to the gym three times a week.
(5) Don’t automatically turn on the TV when there’s nothing on.
(6) Nothing goes in (or stays in) my closet that I don’t love (well, or that I don’t need – that interview suit’s gotta stay).
Hope you guys all have a great New Year!

My New Year’s resolution with regards to fashion is to spend my hard-earned money on good quality clothes. QUALITY over quantity. There’s only so much to be said about trendy pieces that start falling apart after two washes. Good quality clothes, albeit pricier will be so much more worth the money in the long run and will take me from season to season. Happy New Year to everyone!

New Years Resolution: To look nice more often (rather than just special outings), even if it’s just going to the grocery store. That means getting rid of that ratty old hoodie, wearing my flats instead of old sneakers, taking a second to put on lip gloss, have better posture, and stop “saving” my nicer things and go ahead and wear them more often!
Here’s to a stylish 2008!

2008 – I deem it the year that things will get done!
My number one resolution is to not set impossible resolutions! So with that in mind, here we go:
1.) Less Diet Coke, more water (even if it’s sparkling and flavored – that still counts, right?) every day!
2.) Incorporate more ‘warm’ earth-toned colors into my wardrobe, like brown. I’m loving brown combinations like brown/aqua, brown/light pink, brown/lavendar, and brown/sky blue.
3.) Learn some more cooking/baking skills and put them to the test!
4.) Write down every book I read so I can remember them all, and maybe implement some sort of rating system so I can recommend the right books to the right people.
5.) Smile more. That’s the best accessory I’ve got!
