Q&A: What Tights Are in Style?
Q: What hose/tights are in style? I like to wear shorter skirts, but cannot stand to have bare legs when it is cold outside!

You’re in luck–tights of all styles and colors are in style for fall. You can play it safe with neutral colored hose or tights, or you can go wild with technicolor brights.
As for figure flattery, black tights can visually slim and lengthen your legs. But be aware that black stockings make an outfit more formal. We love their inherent classiness, but they can add an unexpected formality to an outfit.
What about color? Bright tights were all over the European runways–at Moschino and Pucci, in particular. But just because they were on the runway doesn’t mean that you should wear them. These bright tights work best for those with outsize fashion personalities. Indeed, no shrinking violet would be caught dead in bright purple tights. Feel free to experiment with these bright colors, if you dare. After all, tights are a relatively cheap investment.
However, if you’re looking for a less flashy and more classy look, we recommend textured, neutral colored leggings and tights. Instead of glamming up your outfit with look-at-me tights, try a pair of stylish textured tights to give your look an edge. If you’re petite, stick with smaller patterns. But if you’re taller, you can experiment with more complex and larger patterns.
