Q&A: The Best Jeans for a Flat Butt
July 12th, 2007
Q: What type of jeans should I be wearing if I have a very flat butt?
A:
If you have a very flat butt, you want to create the illusion of a curvy behind. To do this, wear jeans with:
(1) Pocket detailing, which helps to create the illusion of fullness.
(2) A tighter fit through the thigh, which helps makes your jeans look more fitted.
(3) A butt-enhancing (or butt-lifting) cut, such as Blue Cult’s Butt Lifter Kate Jean (pictured).

This was a good post, but I’m also interested in creating the illusion that your butt is smaller than it really is with jeans. Any suggestions, please? Thanks.

Hi Tess,
To make your butt look smaller with jeans, look for styles with larger back pockets. Jeans with small (or no) pockets tend to make your rear look larger.
Hope that helps,
Trisha

great.. I am a guy.. with a flat butt… and everything I wear looks saggy and baggy and droopy.. dress pants seem to fit better, but oddly enough.. jeans don’t work well. I know I am not the only guy with the concern? ( secret society of flatbutts)

Hi Patrick,
Love that–the secret society of flatbutts! To counteract the droopiness, have a tailor adjust the seat of your pants for a better fit. And to avoid the appearance of an overly flat butt, have the back pockets centered on the butt to make it look fuller.
Hope that helps–
Trisha
