Omiru Poll Result: Maxi Dresses are (Barely) In
June 11th, 2007
We asked: Are Maxi Dresses In or Out?
You said: With 52% of the vote, Maxi Dresses are (barely) In.
Omiru’s take: We’re not loving these questionably flattering floor-length dresses–they only really look right on the uber-tall, and it amuses us that they’re the complete opposite of another hot trend right now: minidresses. Style tip? Should you try the Maxi Dress, keep in mind that this trend could be over in a heartbeat. Choose your price point accordingly.
Next Question: Our friends at Couture in the City recently reported on celebrity color trend Electric Blue. But what do
you think? Tell us, is Electric Blue In, or is it Out? Cast your

As a Muslim women who wear lose but Western clothes, the Maxi dress is a good options for layering. But it is strange they are being sold in the same season as mini dresses.

Great point about the Maxi dress being good for layering, Celeritas! And yeah, it bugs me too that both the mini and the maxi are being popularized in the same season.

I don’t care for them. Maybe because I grew up in a different generation- long dresses were for women to old to wear minis or for formal dances. I might wear one around the house, but then it would look like a nightgown lol

You hit it right on the nose with the nightgown comment, Mimi. That’s what these maxi dresses remind me of!

I love them! The maxi dress never goes out of style for me. There is something very regal about the,. It is a great way to look put together, cool, and fresh without doing too much. Add some accessories and transform into a Grecian goddess. Loves it!

I love maxi dresses! It’s a test whether one can carry it or not. Only a select few can carry it with style and flair.
