February 2012 Lookbook: Lunch with the Ladies
February 7th, 2012
This look is part of Omiru’s February 2012 Lookbook series, which builds upon our 16-Piece February 2012 Capsule Wardrobe. See more information about this look.
You don’t have to be a lady who lunches to sport this prim & polished (yet effortlessly chic) look. What I love about this look is that it’s perfectly put together, yet it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Yes, it features a gorgeous tweed skirt - but that tweed skirt is paired with a military inspired smock shirt (and a pair of patterned sunglasses to boot!). Here’s how to get the look:
1. Start with a playful juxtaposition - an earthy, casual smock shirt with a proper tweed skirt in a neon green.
2. It’s winter - so wrap yourself up in a sweaterjacket (or a sweater and/or jacket).
3. To walk the fine line between effortless and polished, choose accessories that give a nod to each. Here, I’ve kept the shapes classic - but each accessory features a cheeky detail, from the pattern on the sunglasses to the bold color on the clutch to the colorblocking on the shoes.
