Spring 2010 Fashion Week Trend: Long Cardigans

Long Cardigans at Lela Rose, Alexander Wang, and Michael Kors.

Style tip?  Stock up on long cardigans.  They’re great for layering under jackets for Fall and Winter, and they’re just as versatile for Spring.  Wear a long cardigan over your minidress or blouse/skirt combo (as at Lela Rose), skinny belt optional.  Or use your cardigan to play with textures, as Alexander Wang does.  Just don’t wear the cardigan sans-bottom, as seen at Michael Kors!  Clearly a runway-only look.

What do you think?  How would you wear the long cardigan?  Share your thoughts in the comments!

I’ve been talking about the oversized cardigana and the boyfriend blazer as well. They are almost interchangeable depending on the material of the blazer – and TOTALLY essential to a wardrobe. I think that this is one trend that might last a while because it gives women that much needed chance to wear what we love while covering what we don’t love so much. I LOOOOVE either one with a dress or skirt that is either slightly shorter or the same length as the cardigan or blazer. Niiiice!

It´s been a while since I follow you. The only change is that now i have my own blog. I enjoy a lot reading you tips since I find them really useful. I was thinking the other day about doing some layering and you gave me great clues. Thanks,

    xoxo

In my eyes, long cardigans are timeless. When fashion trends intersect with practical wardrobe investments, magical things happen.

I couldn’t see anything but those awful skinny legs. My gosh!!
    Is starvation in?

I spent six months in Malawi once. Worked with children who weren’t getting enough to eat. These models look just like they did. Starving.
