Spring 2010 Fashion Week Trend: The Sharp Shoulder
September 14th, 2009
Style tip? Whether you’re breaking out the shoulderpads, wearing a sharp shouldered blazer, or trying out pouf sleeves, you’re working one of Spring 2010’s most important silhouette trends. We love the sharp shoulder paired with more unstructured pieces - as seen with the hard-meets-soft silhouette at Preen. If you want to draw extra attention towards your sharp shoulders, layer on a statement necklace.
What do you think? How would you wear the sharp shoulder? Share your thoughts in the comments!

I imagine that, eventually, I’ll cave to this trend. But for now? Just doesn’t appeal to me.

This is bad news. Flashback to 1980 anyone? No thanks.

Tsk! Every time I get rid of old clothes, the style is back.
The Preen is nice but if things start to resemble “Dynasty” or “Dallas”– yikes!

Ugh the 80’s shoulder pads. Modeling that stuff was murder.
I’d rather walk around in a mini and combat boots

Can’t wait to wear them. Nice shoulder pads make my hips look good – especially with a pencil skirt.

can’t we leave the ’80’s where they belong…in the past? Why would we continue to make the same mistakes? Just because some older ladies sit around and come up with what is “hip” this season.

Luv it. Bit on the heavier side. Shoulder pads always help to make waist look smaller as they give more definition to my shoulders. Can’t wait so attending a May affair with a slight 80’s shoulder look formal black dress.
