Spring 2010 Fashion Week Trend: Vibrant Yellow
September 12th, 2009
Style tip? What we love about vibrant yellow is that it’s upbeat, yet somehow relaxed (think "mellow yellow"). It looks great on tanned and darker skin tones. For Asian women, try a bright shade of yellow (like the sunny shade seen at Preen). What color shoes to pair with yellow? You can’t go wrong with grey.
What do you think? How would you wear vibrant yellow? Share your thoughts in the comments!

I don’t have a tan or darker complexion, so I’ve always steered away from wearing yellow. But, I love this color more and more because it’s fresh and yet still modern.
I just bought a yellow polka dotted button down shirt at target. It’s an unusual color on me, but I couldn’t resist. I pair it with a black houndstooth sweater vest and it’s PERFECT. I’ll be wearing it a lot this season, I think!

I’m Asian, so no way! My yellow-toned skin doesn’t need the assist, thanks…

I have always LOVED yellow and have had trouble finding fun pieces in stores in the past. I’m so happy to see its back this season!!

I love yellow! It goes great with grey, of course. I also like it with tan/off-white or very crisp white. If I feel colorful, then I might wear a little bit of green with it.

Grey with Yellow is simply lovely–I like the grey shoe paired with the yellow dress, but I also love a grey top paired with a bright yellow jacket. A deep blue skirt would really complete the look.

Esther – I’m Asian too, and it’s true that not all shades of yellow work. For my coloring, a bright yellow (like the shade seen at Preen) works great. I can also wear a mustard yellow (and often do) – paired with grey jeans. I’d recommend trying out a bunch of different yellow shades in store – you’ll be surprised at what works

I’m Asian too and have been fearful of yellow since my teen years. But maybe yellow away from the face would be easier to pull off? Shoes or another accessory? Skirt or pants?

I love bright, clear lemon yellow.
