Fall 2009 Fashion Week Trend: Layered Dresses
February 17th, 2009
Style tip? You don’t have to stick your short sleeved and sleeveless dresses into storage when it’s cold out. Just layer them over a long sleeved shirt or sweater. Solids are safe, but don’t you love the visual texture of the grey dress over the green and grey stripes? Gorgeous.
What do you think? Would you wear layered dresses? Share your thoughts in the comments!

Definitely have layered dresses, but I’m fascinated by these looks no less. I can’t seem to do a t-neck under a sheath without feeling decidedly schoolmarmish. And yet that Karen Walker look is all sleekness.

Love this trend… in fact tonight I have a fun girls night out for book club and I am planning on wearing a dress with leggings and a turtleneck underneath! It’s chic and practical – especially during these cold months!

I’m a big fan of this look myself – as Jill says, it’s both chic and practical. So as to minimize the bulk, I’d recommend going with super thin knits (to achieve the Karen Walker or DKNY look). I like the Rag & Bone look as well, but as I’m not as thin or tall as that model…it’s not going to look nearly as good on me

Great idea! Wearing a black (short sleeve) dress with a very thin (yellow!) turtleneck today, and ankle boots, looks great, thanks!

Like this site, very helpful for my work, as I know nothing on the subject.
Cheers!
