Shopping Guide: Jonathan Saunders for Target

October 7th, 2008

Jonathan Saunders is the latest designer to join Target for its Go International program.  The Scottish designer, recently named the Creative Director at Pollini, is coming stateside with a collection full of his signature prints, clean lines, and slim, body-hugging cuts.  Saunders’ collection is fashion-forward, yet somewhat difficult to wear.  We’ve pared Jonathan Saunders’ collection down to our five favorite (and wearable) pieces:

The clothes don’t work at all if you’re busty…

I like the color block top. I also like the woven top in gray, but as my arms are not all that long, I don’t think the sleeves will hit my elbows.

Target is coming up with some nice surprises these days!. Even though I could only wear a couple of these items, I’m glad to see some progressive designers doing a wearable, budget-friendly line!

You can see the model’s nipples in the colorblock top! Must be really sheer.

Meh…I’m not feeling enthused by any of these.

Honestly, some of Target’s clothes look nice in pictures, but in person everything just feels cheap and fits poorly. I’d rather scour sales at department stores for higher quality/lower priced items.

Sophie – yes, Target’s clothes look great in pictures, but not all of them feel or look right in stores. I tend to shop Target in store rather than online.
