You Said: Maybe to Minidresses
March 17th, 2008
We asked: Would you wear a Minidress?
You said: Maybe. For the second week in a row, both "Yes" and "No" each got 50% of the vote.
Style tip? If you have less-than-perfect legs, you can still pull off the minidress trend. Try wearing a minidress over (opaque) tights. Black tights are the most slimming, but you can also experiment with color here.
Next question: We’re seeing plaid everywhere–on the runway, in stores, and on the streets. But would you wear plaid yourself? Cast your vote on the sidebar!

Yes, but only in autumn-winter, not in spring-summer.

They’re cute, but I think minis are for younger women. They just look like “trying to hard” on women my age so I had to vote no. But seeing the brightly colored, floral, and bold patterned minis mean winter is over!

Mindress—no. Not unless it is plaid! 😉

I don’t think it’s the most sophisticated look ever, but good for the days when you don’t want to suck it in all day!

Yeah, minidresses aren’t so much about the sophistication…they’re more flirty and fun. Excellent point about the seasonality of the minidress, J_Benet!

I love minidresses, they are fun, flirty, and are age appropriate for me- mid 20’s. I would wear them on a warm day with gladiator sandals, but I would also wear them in the winter over tights with high/flat boots!!

If you’re looking to flatter your figure, the minidress is definitely for people who are straight up-and-down without curves. As for the age issue, I say if you’ve got it flaunt it! just make sure you pair it with a longer coat–unbuttoned 😉

Mmm love the minidress with a long coat look.
