Spring 2010 Fashion Week Trend: Harem Pants
September 15th, 2009
Style tip? We first saw harem pants making an (unlikely) comeback for Spring/Summer 2009. Seems that they’re here to stay for another season, despite their difficult-to-wear silhouette. To best flatter your figure in harem pants, pair them with a close fitting top (for a small-over-big silhouette) and high, high heels.
What do you think? How would you wear harem pants? Share your thoughts in the comments!

How can this possibly be flattering? It even makes the models look bottom heavy!

These just always look frumpy to me. I don’t think anyone can pull them off.

I just recently bought a pair and I absolutely adore them! The shape is something different and I truly adore how the bottom half elongates your leg like there’s no tmrw. You are correct though, high heels are a must, and they go well with Harem’s.
Before actually trying them on, I had my doubts but now I am in LOVE. One should never be biased about a piece of fashion because we all know that “something that may look terrible/great on the hanger.. Could look fabulous/ridiculous on our bodies”.

I personally love them, i recently brought a khaki green pair and teamed them with a cream boyfreind blazer. Got loads of compliments!!

I’ve been afraid of this trend for a year! Finally, I tried them on because they were only $5 at TJMaxx, Express brand. I love them! They are incredibly comfortable and are more flattering with the right top, booties or gladiator sandals, and long necklaces. Try them with the stud encrusted tee from ae.com which comes in white, gray, cadet blue and brown!

I loved them when they were fashionable the first time around (when I was in high school), and I love them now. I’m so glad they are sticking around for a second season!

i recently took place in an exchange to the Netherlands and Harem pants were everywhere! at first i thought the trend was silly but before leaving i couldn’t resist buying a pair, and now i have fallen in love with them! they are so comfy and different! it takes guts to wear them, but if your brave enough its worth it!
